SKA submission...

So on April 6, 2009 I began to cast on for these socks. I've been wanting to participate in the Sock Knitter's Anonymous, Sockdown competion for awhile, but I can never seem to get it together in time.... shocker!!! Any who.... For this month, you had to pick a pattern on Ravelry that had less than 15 projects. This pattern is "Loops" and it didn't have any projects so I believe that I am the first. When I found the pattern, I remembered that it had been a suggested pattern for a sock club shipment that I had recieved from Tempted - sock club, the yarn was "Red Hat Society". So I got out the yarn and the pattern and cast on!!!!
I had to make some adjustments, such as: I used #2 circular needles and the pattern called for #5's , the pattern called for worsted weight yarn and of course, I used fingering weight. It also called for 48 stitch cast on , but it seemed to me to be a 15 stitch pattern repeat so I cast on 60 stitches....
I finished these about two weeks ago, but I just got around to taking the picture this morning so that I could post and therefore enter the contest. I hope I'm a winner!!! They have quite a few prizes to give away......

Sockdown!! April

I can't explain why the pic on the left is so small and the one on the right seems normal!!!!

Anyways.... On Ravelry, in the Sock Knitter's Anonymous group, I am participating in my first Sockdown!!! It's a monthly challenge with a new theme every month. This month is the Unappreciated sock pattern or knee high's. I chose the unappreciated "loops" pattern that was suggested by Shelly of Loops, in Tulsa, OK when she sent this Tempted - Good Grrl club sock in the "Red Hat Society" colorway.

I started on 4/6/09 and i'm on the toe as of right now.... This pic was taken Friday night.
I'm hoping to start the second sock today and be done this week sometime.

Spinning....

I thought I'd tell you about the spinning I've been doing, or WAS doing.... I actually haven't spun in awhile!
First, the spindle. I had this created for me by Shannon at Spinsanity Spindles . Didn't she do a fantastic job!! It looks exactly like the picture that I sent her. And it spins like a dream...
Second, is the fiber. It's a Merino/Tencel blend that I recieved in a fiber club from Knit Fits. I have about 2/3rds of the 30z done. Not sure when I think it will get done. It's just something that I pick up from time to time. I do hope to use it as a sock yarn. The club came with patterns for socks also.
Speaking of sock clubs...... I will be announceing my first ever sock club on my Etsy site and on Ravelry next week. I'm doing this club with my good pal Bugaboo (on Ravelry) aka Stephanie!! We are pretty excited about this...
Tah Tah for now!

a blue bike!!

So this is the 2001 HD Super Glide that I purchased last Friday. We went riding for about four hours on Saturday. It was fantastic, once I left the driveway!! I stalled it about six times.:(
I haven't ridden my own scoot for about 2-3years so it took a bit to remember how it goes :)
After the intial "gettin goin", I did pretty well. My DH was very patient and supportive. Hoping for nice weather again on Saturday as the hubs and I again have the day off together and would like to go riding again. Who knows, maybe I'll ride to "Knit Night" tonight!!!

Cool!!!

Well, one day into the contest and I've got 8 followers!!!! You guys Rock!!!! Of course I've heard from a few who say they follow the blog, but have not signed up to be a "follower" you guys rock also!!!!! But, if you don't sign up, you will not be entered to win.....:(
So I've posted two pics: the first one is the Celtic Cable Neckwarmer that I knit for my St. Patty's Day swap partner, RellyB in the United Kingdom. She totally liked it and claims she wore it around the house the first day....
The second is the Wee Mini Sock that I made while attending a recent Schola at a SCA event. My knitting buddy Georg was the teacher and person who invited me :)
